Basic Studio Photography

An introduction to studio based photography. Using a DSLR camera, synched up to two 500 watt studio lights, participants work in groups of between four and six; one photographer, two assistants on each light and one model, participants alternate through the four roles, experimenting, with direction, to produce high quality images.

            Session One

Participants alternate between the various contributing roles within the shooting session. The photographer, under supervision, directs the other participants in free flowing, experimental work, exploring the effect of lighting while becoming familiar with the basic operation of a DSLR camera.

            Session Two

Using image editing software, participants work through selecting and editing their own images, with input from the group, to work towards producing final images.
